ARB 101 - Introduction to Arabic
Take your first step towards understanding the Qur'an. The Arabic portion of Lantern Adult Literacy focuses on two principles in teaching classical Qur'anic Arabic:
  • Learning grammatical maxims
  • Applying learned maxims via examples
This course is designed to be a pathway for those wishing to learn Arabic at a very part-time basis. In each semester, a section of the Arabic grammar canvas will be explored alongside building and practicing new vocabulary. The students' vocabulary and knowledge of grammar rules will increase steadily each semester. New concepts and subjects are introduced through examples from the Qur'an and Sunnah,
After four years, students will be comfortable in picking up and delving into most classical Arabic texts, insha'Allah.
The first semester covers Arabic word morphology (sarf) and vocabulary building through the text Fundamentals of Classical Arabic.

Note: ARB 101 is not available separately from AQD 201. Enrolling into AQD 201 also enrolls you into ARB 101.
